In ceréonies, traditionally used in Vietnam, white is the color West as the "Five Principles".
Everything that is related to the West is considered harmful. That is why all the locations of the graves are often to the west of the village. The Mountaineers people consider the forests to the west as evil places. Near wht is the Black, North color, again according to "Five Principles". The great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren mourn with auspicious colors (because it is a blessing to have so many descendants). As Red (Southern) or yellow (the Centre).
According to the Yin-Yang philosophy, Yin corresponds to even numbers and odd numbers to Yang.
